Click below for answers to FAQ's:
1Is there an age limit for Pole Fitness classes?
We do not teach anyone under the age of 16 years. Participants between the ages of 16 and 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian.
2Am I too old/overweight/weak?
You're never too old to take up pole! We will help you lose weight and gain strength, so the simple answer is no! Everyone starts somewhere. If you are particularly concerned about your weight please email sarah@thepolestudio.co.uk to discuss.
3What shall I wear?
Wear something that you feel comfortable in that does not restrict movement. Gym clothing is fine. You do not need to wear shorts for the first few lessons however exposing skin on the legs (and arms) allows you to grip on to the pole. If you feel shy about wearing shorts you can wear tracksuit trousers at first.Lycra shorts are recommended. In order to protect our poles and your belongings, jewellery must be removed prior to commencing a class. Our pole fitness classes are barefoot so wear what you feel comfortable to arrive in. Trainers or dance shoes are also fine.
4What should I not wear?
Do not apply oils or lotions to the skin prior to your class. They will make you slip off the pole!
5Is there anything else I need to know?
Please bring your own water and a flannel or hand towel. Although the poles will be thoroughly cleaned before your class, you will find it useful to regularly dry your hands and dry the pole to prevent slipping. If you are asthmatic please bring your own inhaler and let your instructor know where it is so they can access it if needs be. Do not eat any later than two hours prior to your class. This can help for some people who experience motion sickness. While you are perfecting new moves on the pole there is a risk that you will get bruises and/or friction burns. Some people bruise more easily than others.
6Refund/Cancellation Policy
Due to having to book studio and instructor time in advance and restricted numbers in our classes, all lesson fees, whether they are courses, privates or drop-ins are non-refundable or transferrable under any circumstances.
For drop in lessons and private classes, cancellations without 36 hours notice will result in your loss of your booking and payment. For prices please click on the studio of your choice.
